Drug agents uncover Rock Hill meth lab

 — York County drug agents on Tuesday found the 11th meth lab in the county this year at a Rock Hill home after executing a search warrant on a man they had been watching for some time, authorities said.

At about 10 p.m., agents who had been tracking Christopher Maxon, 23, found him at a home on East Border Road, off Saluda Road, and were able to secure a search warrant after presenting to a judge information they managed to gather, said drug unit commander Marvin Brown.
Officers found 66 grams of liquid meth inside the home, along with several other precursors to making the drug.
"Any time you find liquid meth, it's an active lab," Brown said.
Maxon and Michael Blackwell Jr., 30, both of Rock Hill, were arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and trafficking methamphetamine. The county's emergency management office and Oakdale Volunteer Fire Department also responded to help with chemical clean-up.
